COMPLEMENT
A word or a phrase that completes the meaning of a verb, a subject, or an object.
A subjective complement completes a linking verb and renames or describes the subject.
Maggi was my seatmate and best friend.
An objective complement completes a transitive verb and renames or describes the direct object.
Ivy considered Maggi a wonderful friend.
