INFINITIVE

A verbal that consists of to, the sign of infinitive, and the present form of the verb, the stem of infinitive. An infinitive is used primarily as a noun and less recurrently as an adverb or an adjective. It may have a subject, an object, a modifier, or a complement. See VERBAL.
