PHRASE

A group of words that lacks a subject, a predicate, or both. Phrases are classified according to use: verb phrase, noun phrase, adverbial phrase, or adjectival phrase; or according to form: gerund phrase, infinitive phrase, participial phrase, or prepositional phrase.

In third grade, [prepositional phrase] our friendship blossomed into a rare inseparable relationship.
