PREPOSITION
A word, such as aboard, about, above, according to, across, after, against, along, alongside, among, around, as, aside from, as if, as to, at, because of, before, behind, below, beneath, beside, between, beyond, by, by means of, despite, different from, down, during, except, for, from, in, in addition to, in front of, in spite of, inside, instead of, into, like, near, of, off, on, on account of, onto, opposite, out, out of, owing to, outside, over, past, plus, prior to, similar to, since, subsequent to, through, throughout, to, toward, under, underneath, until, up, upon, with, within, without, among others, that relates a noun or a pronoun to another word in the sentence.
Prepositions indicate cause; result; means; degree; manner; purpose; situation; ownership; place and location; time, date, and duration; or movement and direction.
A preposition and its object form a prepositional phrase.
