ALIXANDER HABAN ESCOTE is the Head Teacher III of the Makati Science High School English Department where he teaches Journalism and Print Media. He is the adviser of The Makati Science Vision, the Best School Paper of the Year during the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) in 2004 and the Fifth Best School Paper of the Year during the NSPC in 2008 and in 2005. He was recognized as one of the 17 Outstanding School Paper Advisers in the Philippines in 2007 and Outstanding School Paper Adviser in the National Capital Region in 2006. He was also named Best School Paper Adviser in the Philippines in 2008, in 2005, and in 2004. He published the "Spark of Hope: The Makati Science Vision Anthology of Student Essays" in 2005 and "The Makati Science Vision Manual of Style and Usage" in 2004. He was a recipient of a Japanese Cultural Studies Exchange Program in Tokyo, Japan, and a Pearl: Integrating Journalism Skills into the Curriculum Online Professional Development Course Scholarship. As a college scholar, he is currently reading for his Master of Arts in Media Studies major in Journalism at the University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication in Diliman, Quezon City.
